Erstwilder Brooch • The Possum Midin

Some say that the Pseudocheirus Peregrinus AKA The Ringtail Possum is the most common Possum in Australia, but we prefer to think of them as the most famous. Agile, sweet, and nocturnal by nature, our Possum 'Midin' Brooch knows that any time is a good time to be fabulous. This gorgeous and detailed design is a part of our long-awaited collaboration with Aboriginal Artist Melanie Hava. With layered resin and featuring hand-finished details, Melanie's incredible art has been taken off canvas and brought to life as wearable art.

DESIGN STORY

Equipped with night vision and a tail as good as an extra hand, there's nothing common about me, despite what they may say.

Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all of our designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand there can be fingerprint marks and very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in our designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.

Brooch clasps are made from plated brass. Earrings hooks and posts are made from high quality, hypoallergenic stainless steel.

Designs come packaged in Erstwilder gift boxes.
